With the Moto Guzzi V9 lineup being cut in half for 2022 with the removal of the ‘Roamer’, only one remains: THE BOBBER. To be relevant as a motorcycle company churning out classically-styled motorcycles in 2022 it feels as though it is almost mandatory to offer a bobber variation in some form or another, and Moto Guzzi’s iteration of the V9 Bobber is something special to say the last.
Borrowing the same engine from the V85 TT, the V9 Bobber manages to squeeze out a bit more power bringing the figures up to 65 peak horsepower and 54 lb-ft of torque. With greater power comes greater responsibility, and as a result of this bump in power key points of the motorcycle have been reinforced to accommodate such as the bigger headstock aimed at “increasing stability and riding precision” per a Moto Guzzi spokesman.
Beyond the small bump in power, it is obvious that this model reflects what it truly means to be a ‘Bobber’ in 2022. All of the previously chrome parts on this motorcycle have been wrapped in a shadowy matte black paint, and the big beefy tires make a bobber statement without having to bat an eyelash.
Unfortunately, it appears as though this model didn’t make the cut for Canadian buyers per availability on the official Moto Guzzi website, but perhaps that could change as we get further into 2022. If you’re looking for a tried-and-true Italian bobber, the V9 could be a great place to start your journey.

The talented and demanding Mandello design team have insisted on only the very best of materials for this deceptively simple looking bike, choosing aluminum for the new side panels and solid steel for the fuel tank. With its total matt black look that includes the handlebar, 16” wheels, exhaust, mudguards and sides. No detail has been overlooked, right down to the aluminum rider foot pegs, now with rubber supports to reduce vibration.
The new two-person seat comes with a removable passenger saddle, transforming the V9 BOBBER into an impressive single-seater. With a ground clearance of only 30.9 in and total kerb weight of just 462.9 lbs, it’s not hard to imagine the level of control and riding pleasure on offer, while the body has been fine-tuned to offer improved stability on both busy streets and narrow roads.
The V9 BOBBER is equipped with full LED optics and a powerful DRL headlight that recalls the outline of the eagle. Making its debut is a completely digital instrument cluster, in addition to a revamped seat with improved ergonomics. The result is a unique style that seamlessly fuses the grand legacy of Moto Guzzi with all the comforts of modern technology in a decidedly sporty bike. *LED turn signals not included on US model.
